PB - PureBasic Source File

What is a PB file

PB files are used by developers. They contain source code written in a specific programming language, namely PureBasic. PureBasic is based on BASIC, another programming language. Developer files and other files containing scripts written in a programming language, such as PB, need to be compiled or used in another way in order for the script inside to be executed. However, with any text editor, the contents of the file can be viewed.

As stated above, PB files contain source code. This includes different variables and functions but also references to other PB files as well as other source code files that are compatible with the code written in the PB file. Since PureBasic is a 64-bit and 32-bit programming language, it is suited for developing applications in said range.

Here's a small, but not exhaustive list of programs that can open PB documents:

  • Fantaisie Software PureBasic (Windows, Mac & Linux)
  • Any Text Editor
