What is a IMOVIEMOBILE file
As the name already suggests, IMOVIEMOBILE files are created using iMovie, a video editing program for Apple devices such as Mac computers, iPhones, and iPads. This particular file is created using the iMovie mobile app for phones and tablets running under iOS. IMOVIEMOBILE files are project files. They contain the work in progress or finished project of a video editing session in iMovie. This means it includes all kinds of effects, transitions, the timeline and references to audio, video, and image data used in the video project. However, it does not contain the actual video or other media data.
What differentiates IMOVIEMOBILE project files from other video editing project files is that you can access the data inside even if you do not have iMovie or an Apple device. For this, all you have to do is rename the .imoviemobile file extension to .zip. This ZIP archive can then be extracted and the content of the project is then accessible in a separate folder.
