What is a PES file

The PES file type is associate with the Computer aided manufacturing process. It is use to generate embroidery designs and images for Babylock, Brother, or Bernina Home Embroidery Formats. These files can easily be created using Coreldraw or using the dedicated softwares for the embroidery machines.

PES files are encoded using lines of code which are afterwards converted to an embroidery base image that can be utilized by the machine to put the embroidery on to the desired media. Associated with CAM or Computer Aided Manufacturing, the PES file contains codes like 'Stop', 'Skip', and also makes use of a color palette provided with the software that the machine uses.
