The PROP System file format

Files with the PROP extension are most commonly associated with build properties files on Android devices like smartphones or tablets. These files contain valuable information about the device they are found on. The information include model, brand and version of the Android device as well as general behavior of the phone or tablet.

Technical details of PROP files

PROP files are usually stored in the system folder of the respective Android device. Certain programs allow a user to alter these PROP files by granting access to it. Afterwards, it can be altered in a simply text editor. Changes can be made to enhance internet speed, battery usage and overall behavior. After saving and rebooting the device, the changes will be applied to the Android phone or tablet.
