What is a MPC file
MPC files are the result of compressing an audio file using Musepack audio compression. The files can be compared to MP2 files, but they have been further developed from this base. While MPC files have a considerably better audio quality than MP3 files, they are still far lesser known.
MPC is the format that succeeded the MP+N format that has been formerly used by Musepack to compress audio files. Most standard audio players are able to open MPC files. If not, there may be a plug-in that enables them to.
